SafeGuard Advanced Security (SGAS)  is a modular security  solution that
allows the Windows Operating system  security to extend via many  useful
functions  in  a  consistent,  platform  overlapping  way.  All  systems
starting from Windows 2000 up to XP are supported. The installation  and
administration are  built in  such a  way that  enables it  to take full
advantage of  Active Directory,  group policies,  Management console and
other   up-to-date  functions   of  Windows   Server,  when   available.
Heterogeneous environments (e.g. Novell) are equally well supported.

In  a  company  the  employees  can  run  certain  applications  on  the
workstations locally and others on  the Terminal Server. The aim  of the
security policy of the company,  is to prevent on all  workstations data
being saved temporarily in clipboard.
In order  to carry  out this  security policy,  the necessary  SafeGuard
module (in this case the Base module) will be installed on the  Terminal
Server. The temporary saving of data in the clipboard will be blocked on
all  workstations  via  an  option  in  the  administrative  template of
SafeGuard Advanced Security.
As a result users  are no longer able  to save data in  the clipboard on
the Terminal Server or  cannot copy data from  the local machine to  the
Terminal Server and vice versa.

Base Security Module (BASE):
----------------------------
This mandatory module  will enhance the  login to the  Windows Operating
system. It provides  additional password rules,  the ability to  share a
desktop between multiple users and perform fast user switching. It  also
allows smartcards for  authentication (full PKCS#11  support) - even  in
Terminal Server environments etc. In addition, this module is the  basis
for all other security modules and thus includes components for  central
and local auditing etc.

Single Sign On (SSO):
---------------------
This module  relieves users  and administrators  from password  handling
problems.  The  powerful  scripting based  Single  Sign  On engine  will
automatically and transparently log the  user on to nearly any  password
based system (local applications as well as web-applications), once  the
user has authenticated to the operating system. For detailed information
see Single Sign On's manual (SSO.pdf) in the DOC folder of the CD.

Removable Media Management (RMM):
---------------------------------
Often it  is inevitable  for users  to have  access to  data on  certain
removable  media  such  as  CD's  or  DVD's.  However,  in  managed   IT
environments, not  all media  shall be  available to  the users, because
programs installed  by a  user unauthorized  from a  CD can endanger the
integrity of  systems or  can cause  some license  violations as well as
some  infections  by  new  viruses.  Removable  Media  Management allows
administrators  to oblige  users to  make use  of media  that has  been
specifically approved by them.

Application Specific Access Rights (ASAR):
------------------------------------------
Realizes a 3-dimensional security concept by allowing explicit rights to
be specified between users, data and applications. This protects against
the threat of certain (even currently unknown) viruses and implements  a
fine-grained security even  in unmanaged code  or mixed Windows  version
environments.

Plug&Play Management (PnP):
---------------------------
Every user  is able  to connect  new devices  like USB  memory sticks or
external hard disk drives to their workstation and use them immediately.
PnP  Management  prevents  users  from  uncontrolled  data  transfer and
